Chiropractic & Custom Orthotics

Chiropractic manipulation is a non-invasive manual procedure highly effective in treating areas of decreased movement in the joints of the spine. When spinal flexibility is compromised, soft tissues such as muscles, ligaments and nerves can be aggravated, resulting in dysfunction, spasms and pain. Chiropractors assess disorders related to the spine, nervous system and joints of the extremities and offer diagnosis and therapeutic, preventative or palliative treatment, depending on the individual’s needs.

BLUEPRINT’s chiropractic services include spinal manipulation, ultrasound, electrotherapy, soft tissue therapy, therapeutic exercise and Orthotics fitting. Our Chiropractor, Dr. Carol Ann Weis, also integrates contemporary acupuncture and Graston technique into her treatments.

Holistic Nutrition

The human body is truly extraordinary in its ability to heal itself – if given the right raw materials. It’s not just what you eat, but when and how you eat that maximizes the biochemical conversion of food to energy that translates into strength and vitality at any stage of life.

Holistic Nutritionists are expert at using food as medicine and combining appropriate supplements to correct digestive imbalances and restore health.

Homeopathy

For centuries, homeopathy has mystified as many people as it has cured. The main benefit of homeopathic treatment is the central tenet of causing no harm. Thus, unlike conventional pharmaceuticals, homeopathic remedies are safe for everyone - from infants to the ‘young at heart’. Homeopathic treatment is an ideal option during pregnancy. It is the treatment of choice for the majority of acute and chronic illnesses, including emotional and physical trauma.

The Homeopath seeks to understand the individuals unique concerns, not only related to the body but also to the mind and spirit. When properly selected, a homeopathic medicine is like the pilot light that reignites the body’s innate wisdom and desire to restore health and vitality.

Live Blood Cell Microscopy

Whereas standard lab tests usually provide results that are compared to population averages, Live Cell analysis provides immediate insight into an individual’s unique nutritional deficiencies and digestive imbalances. The procedure is quick and painless and is a useful tool which can indicate imbalances in the body related to hormones, pH, candida, liver as well as reveal the presence of bacterial and parasitic infection. Once identified, lifestyle medicine and nutritional counselling can provide a plan for recovery.

Osteopathy

Like homeopathy, osteopathy recognizes the individual’s symptoms as the body’s voice or messaging system. Rather than merely treating the symptoms, the osteopath seeks to identify the root cause of the imbalance and stimulate the body’s ability to heal itself.  It is the role of the skilled osteopathic practitioner to facilitate that restorative process through manual palpation.  The art of osteopathy lies in the practitioner’s ability through touch to restore equilibrium and encourage the body to heal. Of note, osteopathic therapy predates chiropractic and its founder, Andrew Taylor Still was the first western MD to consider treating the patient as a whole person.

Registered Massage Therapy

Massage is one of the oldest, restorative manual therapies. The experience of a therapeutic massage extends far beyond the simple goal of relaxation. Therapeutic massage targets the root source of pain, and seeks to improve overall circulation and mobility of joints and muscles, correct posture, decrease pain and release tension.  The skill of the experienced RMT (Registered Massage Therapist) lies in the ability to assess the optimal degree of pressure and movement for each individual.  RMT has a number of documented clinical benefits which include rapid healing of soft tissue injuries, reduction in formation of scar tissue, as well as relief from inflammation, pain and tension. BLUEPRINT is pleased to offer Laser Therapy, which works on a deeper, cellular level in tandem with RMT (as indicated).
